NEWS – TINERI NAMED ‘MOST EXCITING NEW STARTUP 2017’ BY TRAVELMOLE ASIA-PACIFIC

Thailand-based travel tech startup Tineri has been honoured in Travelmole’s 2017 Asia-Pacific Awards, which took place at ITB Asia in Singapore last Thursday (26 October). The company, which specialises in providing mobile itinerary solutions for tour operators, travel agents and other travel providers, was the winner in the ‘Most Exciting New Startup Company’ category.

The Travelmole Awards are an annual event designed to reward excellence in online travel engagement and deployment. Six candidates are initially selected for each category, with an expert panel of judges then shortlisting three, with the final vote being cast by Travelmole readers. Despite being up against well-known startups such as Zuzu Hotels and RedDoorz, Tineri came out on top in its category and the award given to its delighted Founder Tim Russell at the award ceremony last Thursday.

“We’re absolutely delighted to win this award” said Tim. “To have a panel of travel experts and Travelmole’s readers rate us as the region’s most exciting startup makes all our hard work over the last few months worthwhile and gives us a real sense of pride in what we have achieved in our first year.”

The award completes an exciting few months for Russell and his team. After winning a Frost & Sullivan Thailand Excellence Award in March, they were acquired by UK travel tech specialists Open Destinations in May, before beta-launching their product and signing up their first paying customers in October.

“2017 has been the year when Tineri has gone from being an idea to reality” he told us. “Thanks to our investors at Open Destinations and our team of developers in India we’ve created a really great product and we’re starting to get a lot of interest from tour operators worldwide.”

Tineri’s next adventure takes them to London where they will be exhibiting their mobile itinerary platform at World Travel Market, alongside Open Destinations, on stand TT440.
