NEWS – OPEN DESTINATIONS TO INTRODUCE NEXT GENERATION OF TRAVEL STUDIO AT TRAVEL TECHNOLOGY EUROPE 2013
The new browser-based software, aptly named TSv2, was developed by a large team across the company, comprised of top quality developers based in their offices in both London and Goa. ‘TSv2 was developed in consultation with our existing customers,’ says Kevin O’Sullivan, CEO of Open Destinations. ‘We work with a wide array of tour operators and wholesalers who have an increasing need for system speed and flexibility to keep up with the evolving technology needs of today’s travel consumer. We are confident that we have developed market leading software for a specialised industry.’TSv2 utilises modern techniques, resulting in an interactive, quick presentation in real time. Users of the software will be able to use widgets to customise the display of their screens, with a similar view to a modern day smartphone or tablet. To appeal to the company’s customer base stretching across the globe, TSv2 provides enhanced multi-lingual functionality, which integrates with the local operating system to allow a full language experience. Other key features of TSv2 include a deeper GDS integration and new interfaces for car hire, hotels and airlines.
In light of the enhancements, O’Sullivan is convinced that the greatest benefit is actually the long-term savings that customers will receive. ‘This enhanced functionality will make it easier for our customers to conduct upgrades,’ says O’Sullivan. ‘In simple terms, this means that they will be saving money by not having to invest in ongoing re-training or additional resources in-house.’
The software is backed up by a strong customer support site, which recently re-launched in December 2012. This state-of-the art website is quicker and provides customers with total transparency, where they can view the status of any of issue in real time and communicate directly with the customer support teams 24 hours a day.
TSv2 will be available to go live for all new and existing customers in Q1 2013.
