Building for the future at Open Destinations
A message from Kevin O’Sullivan
It’s been over 25 years since I founded Open Destinations, and over the years, the company has grown considerably and become one of the world’s leading travel technology and services companies. We’ve had our challenges over the last few years. The COVID-19 pandemic devasted the travel industry, but our focus on developing our products and services during this time has paid off. We are now larger and stronger than before the pandemic, and we look forward to the next few years as the travel industry prospers.
As the world has changed over the last few years, so has Open Destinations. When I started the company, it was just me. Now, with almost 700 staff, we provide technology and services to travel companies in over 30 countries around the world. Our offerings have expanded significantly over the last 25 years, but our commitment to the Travel Industry remains unwavering. It’s the industry we know best and strive to serve with the best technology and services, and we will continue to do so.
After 25 years, my role should also evolve. I am pleased to announce that John Davies will take over as CEO of Open Destinations from July 2024. John worked as Director of Projects for Open Destinations from 2012-2015 and returned as CTO in 2023. Many of you will have met John in London or on his visits to Goa. With experience in senior management roles in companies such as TUI, the AA and 3M, John is committed to ensuring that Open Destinations continues to grow and thrive and remains a crucial partner to our customers in the coming years. I will continue to lead Open Destinations as Executive Chair, working with John, Dev and our wider management team to shape the company’s strategic direction.
