A former IT Delivery manager at TUI has been appointed as Senior VP of Projects with Open Destinations.
John Davies joins from the head office of TUI Travel plc, where he headed up IT delivery for customer and overseas projects and was responsible for the delivery of multi-channel CRM systems. He also brings eight years of IT and project management experience from the UK office of 3M.
Davies will lead the project management teams across the London and Goa offices of Open Destinations, working closely with customer projects covering both the front and back office.
The appointment is part of a large scale recruitment drive in 2013, which has resulted in more than 300 staff now spanning across the London and Goa offices. Kevin O’Sullivan, CEO and Founder of Open Destinations, describes the new position as a pivotal point in the company growth. ‘As our business grows we take on a greater number of complex projects. Having John on board allows us to refine and grow our project management.
Davies has begun a review of the existing processes and will be rolling out new systems and processes to support the continued growth. ‘It’s a rare opportunity to be part of a leadership team making advancements in the travel technology arena’, says Davies. ‘I hope to bring a customer perspective to the table and support the evolution of a market-leading product.’
